Hi all, I looking to fit a battern light onto a ceiling that's been cladded with upvc, I've attached the type of lamp I'm planning on. Which is the best way to connect to the mains?
I was thinking of a lighting wago box pushed up behind the ceiling behind the light.
These fittings have flex pre wired from one end of the fitting.
The other method being a small junction box mounted on the ceiling, not as tidy as the first suggestion though.
I need to keep the fitting in the centre of the room.
Thanks in advance.

You could fit a ceiling rose, or a white (outdoor type neatest) junction box with some sort of cable clamp or gland.

Personally, I would exchange the light fitting for a better type that isn't pre-wired, and allows your cable to enter through the back.

If there like the led battens I have the white end caps are just screwed on, you can easily remove them and either solder a longer piece of cable to the pcb or crimp another cable to the existing and then run it down the batten so you can drill a hole in the cladding which will be hidden by the batten.
