My "friend" was a little impatient to start his jetski which had a low battery charge so he plugged his mains charger into the socket and attached to the ski battery and tryed to start the ski a few times.
The charger needle shot up to full charge on the dial (which it is not) and has stayed there since regardless of switching off etc.

The battery has been removed and plugged in to charge but will it?? as the needle is saying its fully charged already??

Is the charger or the battery broken??

Battery is only 3 months old.

The needle has probably jammed because it shot up so quick. You can test the charger with a multi meter, it should produce about 14 volts. You could also connect a bulb to it. This would tell you if it was producing a voltage but not if it was producing enough to charge a battery. I had one that seemed to be working perfectly but wouldn't charge a battery because the output wasn't high enough.

sounds to me like he killed the charger.

also i bet the jetski didnt start eh?

battery chargers work very slowly so to not dammage the battery thru heat etc.

tell your freind to go drop 30 quid on a jump starter pack next time.
