just had a new battery installed Ford Focus 1.0

what should the battery read after driving for a about an hour, do u have to allow for the fact that the battery could have been sitting on a shelf for while in the store?
thanks

After an hour, the battery will be at full capacity.
Using a multimeter, look for 14.4v with the engine running and lights on.
When starting up, expect the battery voltage not to drop below 11v.
The new battery may need to be coded to the vehicle - I can’t say for certain.
John :)

thanks, should have said its an EFB battery, its about 14.6 with engine running although this does seem to fluctuate , 1 hour after engine off battery reading about 12.4

Thanks John.

One other query
The battery in the car was 65amp, correct for the car.

The garage in question initially put in a 75amp battery followed by a 60amp, not sure why they did that. after a few days of me pestering them they put in a 65 amp.
When checking with multimeter during engine running (with the two incorrect batteries) the reading was only about 12 not the usual 14 ish.
would having the incorrect amp battery cause that? just curious
thanks again

No, in this instance the current / voltage ratio isn’t relevant but the larger 75A battery would have greater ‘staying power’ but the charging voltage remains the same.
