Dishwasher as above (fully integrated) is causing RCD to trip ~5 mins into a wash cycle, which I suspect corresponds with water heater coming on.

I have tried running on rinse cycle and no trip. Also got to element connection from below (by removing kitchen plinth and d/w inspection panels below d/w door) and disconnected L & N wires. Ran again on wash cycle and no trip.

No sign of water leak below machine so think I must be fairly safe in concluding the element is the cause - possibly corroded through. Anyone disagree?

Question is how to replace it. Seems to be a nut below holding the 'connection' end of the element that I can (just about) get a socket on. Brackets inside d/w no problem. Is that it?

TIA.

yes if its the exposed element in the base then you only need undo the nut and remove the element from its brackets .
