Looks like a good site, I'll be visiting here again.....

Anyway, I have a problem with the boiler and wondered if there is a common part that fails with this. It would save me a load of time checking everything through. Its about 3yrs old or so.

I get a Ignition fault coming up two or three times a day, once reset everything works fine. It started playing up but wasn't sure what was going on so had it serviced and I replaced the thermostat (new Honeywell CM927). Power is to the boiler via the control valves, with the old stat I could turn it down to 10 and then to 20 and it would kick into life, but I now know that was just turning the power on/off to the boiler. If the thermostat is calling for heat and the boiler is in lock-out mode nothing is going to happen or change.

As you've said you have an ignition fault, you are unlikely to get any advice here, other than get a RGI in.

It may be the flame failure probe or the ignition spark unit not working correctly, easy to replace & worth a try. However I find a gentle wire brushing of these three items keeps them working between each service as they are in the flame & become covered in a white deposit, watch the spark gap is maintained when cleaning,,,
