Hi all,

Over the past week I have noticed that the pressure gauge on my boiler shows 0 bars both on and off. When I turn on the boiler and hot tap the 60 light flashes after a short while indicating 'fault on pump or low pressure'. But if I leave it for a while then switch the dial over from 'heating and water' to just 'water' (and vice versa) it sometimes works and I can get hot water out the tap. I phoned up a number earlier for boiler maintenance and they said you have to turn one of the valves under the boiler. I looked under the boiler and I can see five valves but which one do I move?

Here is a pic (click to enlarge). I have numbered and circled each valve.

Thanks,

Mark

no.4 and 2

open up until the gauge reaches 1.5 then turn both off. be careful not to over fill.

Hi,

I turned No.4 90 degrees anti-clockwise and thats as far as it goes. Then I try to turn No.2 valve but this valve doesn't move in either direction!? Any more info.
Thanks.

I keep trying but it just wont budge! Looks like I will have to get the Engineer out

Thanks.

These stiffen up and it needs turning so tail of tap points to lefthand side as you look at boiler as mickeyg says be brave you wont break it. . usually

Well I finally managed to turn it! Now the pressure is steady at 1.5 bar and the hot water is working!

Cheers :D
