Hi,

I'm new and this is my first question. I did search but couldn't find exactly my problem.

I have a 22 year old Baxi 38/3rs boiler that is regularly serviced and been working perfectly.... Until today.

It's started making a loud noise, similar to a kettle. I bled the radiator upstairs where I tend to get air locks and a tiny amount came out.

Do I need to bleed the boiler too? Thing is, the manuals have long since gone and after a quick google, couldn't immediately find out how to do it. Taking off the bottom panel, there is a 'thing' with what looks like a screw in it same as my rads. Ok I am an office working woman and not in the slightest bit knowledgable about plumbing!

Is it this screw I undo to release air please and do I do it when it's on or do I have to turn everything off?

Basic instructions please and no technical references as I will have no idea.
;)

If that doesn't work, a call to British Gas Homecare is in order, but f it's simple, I'd like to sort it myself.

Thank you in advance for your help! :D

DON'T touch anything on the boiler, there is no bleed point.
When you bled the rad did you get water after the air or did the air just stop?
If you have homecare give them a ring, it costs enough every month.

Thanks Mick!

When the air stopped, I got water as usual. All the rads are nice and hot and the noise has stopped.... For now!

Never heard a noise from the boiler before now. If it comes back, I'll call Homecare. My issue is that I work away in the week, so hard to be in to get an appt!

Cheers!

:D
