Baxi 401 Back boiler engineer needed nr Worthing

Hi, I have a Baxi 401 boiler that needs fixing and parts fitted. Does anyone on this forum know of a boiler engineer based near Worthing, West Sussex who can help?

If you cannot get someone to fix this boiler, it will not be because this boiler is complex, just that the person trying to repair the boiler is lacking experience. Post the issue you are having as Gas112 says

The engineer who attended advises the thermostat to the back boiler is broken and a file stuck in the heat exchanger and says new boiler needed. He has capped it off. There are a few challenges with installing a new boiler, one being that it will apparently need a bigger gas pipe and it's a second floor flat so not an easy task plus permission will probably be difficult to obtain. We would ideally like to see if we can fix current boiler.

Boiler stat is still available at around 25 quid
the broken off phiall can usually be removed by screwing a screw into it and pulling it out use a bit of wd40 sprayed into the pocket

Suspect boiler may not have seen proper annual service hence sensor jammed. During said service the heat exchanger, burner etc would be cleaned with a brush, Flue checks and ventilation checked. Entails removing the said phial.

Useful to know and many thanks DP. Have found an engineer who can work on boiler and will ensure annual service now done.

Consider smart thermostat heads, will reduce fuel consumption
For hot water, fit controls to switch off when water heated to temperature
