Hello

I posted before xmas with the following:

I'm having a problem with my Baxi boiler. The hot water is hot intermittently - I particularly notice the problem with the shower. Some days the shower will be hot and others not so. It's not intermittent in that the shower will go and cold, it stays the same temperature. The hotness of the water also seems to depend on how long I've had the CH on for. If it's been on all day then the water will almost always be hot. The water for the shower or tap will generally not be hot unless the CH is on. I had British Gas out and the guy thought that the shower itself was the problem but I'm not convinced because even the bathroom tap does not always get hot enough.

Any ideas appreciated.

Someone replied suggesting the diverter valve was at fault. BG said the same and put a new one in. Unfortunately I wasn't here, and came home to find the problem is the same. No hot water if the CH is off. Any other ideas?

Thanks

There are several possible causes but they would need tests at the boiler as well as possibly some guesswork!

However, the solution is clear!

Call BG back as they guarantee their work. Just so that you can help to prove the problem its best if you get some measurements of the hot water from the basin tap when fully on. Make a list of the temperatures and times and dates so that you can show a recond of the faulots.
