Afternoon all,
Have a Baxi 80E fited in a house I bought about a year ago.
I'm guessing its about 8 or 10 years old? (house was done up around 2007)
No idea of servicing history (but I know it's due one!)
Boiler works fine, lots of hot water and central heating.
Occasionally I think it's a quite slow to fire up when the hot tap is turned on.
It used to cycle off and on when showering, but may have been a water saving device.
Recently I have noticed the fan randomly fires up.
I think it only does this on the HW/CH setting (not the HW only setting) but don't quote me!
the fan runs for perhaps 10 or 15 seconds?
There are no warning lights I am aware of.
I rang Baxi to ask and the lady on the phone wouldn't tell me what it might be
But said I needed an engineer at £294 inc parts and labour.
There is an aftermarket Salus RT500BC remote control thermostat / timer fitted.
this has a plug in receiver installed where the old mechanical timer fitted.
Any ideas?
