Hi

I have got an old Baxi Back Boiler which i am told is 30 years old and are planning to replace it with the new Bermuda BBU HE. It has never let me down in 14 years.

However, last night it would not turn off. I put the room stat to minimum and turned the CH/HW 'off' on the programmer but it kept going. The only way to switch it off was by the mains switch on the wall.

I have been told by two plumbers (one was in plumb center and the other i work with) that it is the CH Zone Valve stuck open which then overides all the controls and keeps telling the boiler to work.

Is this correct??????? another opinion would be good.

I was in the plumb center enquiring about my new boiler and I brought a new Center Zone Valve which will replace the old 'Tower Heating Components'.

Some of The wires are different colours.

Old Valve: Brown, Blue, Green, Black, Blue
New Valve:Brown, Blue, Orange, Grey, Green/yellow

I have worked out what goes where but a second opinion would be great.

Many Thanks for any help or advice
