baxi bermuda 552 back boiler

Can anyone please help me diagnose why my boiler goes boom very loadly when the gas kicks in and it lites up, i've recently had it serviced and apparently the guy said its quite normal for it to do this delay and then boom as it lites up.... Can anyone give me a real solution to the problem.. many thanks MagicJunki

Not normal , too small/dirty a pilot is the usual cause.
Dirty main burner or faulty gas valve can also cause it
