Hello, I have a baxi Bermuda back boiler and fire vp3 which is serviced by British Gas, they have found a leak on the gas tap for the fire, I think the part is 233/233 but they say they can’t get these anymore. Does anyone know where or an equivalent part can be sourced? We are in the middle of selling our house so this is an issue even though the boiler is still ok and working.

Thanks

Based on the information provided, it does appear to be obsolete. You might get lucky via eBay? @gas112 might be the one to advise if another part would fit.

you wont get one they have been obsolete for quite a while now , you may find one on ebay .
Or if you can get a local old time gasman who could strip the tap down and gas grease the barrel this should fix the leak

Thanks for the advice I did ask British gas to try and repair but they aren’t interested! I take it there’s no equivalent from another manufacturer?

Let me guess, they tried to sell you a new boiler, or worse a heat pump?

Try your local social media group or neighbourhood watch or "nextdoor" or similar to see if anyone knows a helpful gas man. "Older" may be the sort.
With some of the right jizzm amd furious hard complicated work lasting, ooh. several minutes, there would be significant hope of a fix.

Yes they seem to be heading down that route, just need a solution or repair of the existing part, surely if a older engineer can remove and clean it up then they will be able to

Yeah thanks for the info, I will wait and see what they say on Tuesday as they are due to come back with repair info! A company of there size must have one laying around somewhere surely

why would they .
the vp3 went out of production about 20 years ago and the tap was not a common part to require changing even back then and the VP was a very dear fire so never sold in great numbers either so would not have been made in any great numbers
