Hi I have a baxi boston 2 80 boiler, and it was recently been playing up the problem that occurs is that the boiler would fire up for a few hours then switch off, I would re-light the boiler from the pilot and it will only fire for 30 minutes of less and turn off again. I have used different positions on the thermostat and it seems that the boiler stays lit on different settings i,e once, twice or constant.

Please can you help or should i change the boiler as it is quiet old.

Many Thanks

Even when installed new it was only 62% efficient.

Its amazing quite why anyone would want to keep a boiler which is so inefficient.

Its probably repairable but few boiler engineers would want to bother when the boiler scrappage will give you £400 towards replacing it !

If your saying your pilot is turning off at various times then a straight forward service should sort it out.

And most people would fix it instead of trying to get you to spend upto a few thousand pounds that will take years to pay back.

Be interesting to know where 62% came from, if not a figure Agile has made up again

I'd bother as would over 20 other companies based in my local area would. I fully suspect you havent the money to spend on a new boiler willy nilly so to speak.

I will repair older boilers but I doubt that what you say is true in your case as there will not be that many boiler repair companies in the United Arab Emirates!
