I've recently moved into a new flat that has a Baxi 80e combi - typically it's just gone on the blink  The HW is fine but when I switch on the CH nothing happens - the power LED is on but no fault lights come on, nothing.

I found another post with the exact same thing here, am I right in thinking the timer is the issue here? I've removed the timer wall plate and this had no pin at position 1 at all. I tried shorting the 2 live positions (1 & 4 pictured) but this didn't work. I've seen a replacment timer switch at a reasonable price so wondering if I should go for that? Is there other positions I could try shorting meanwhile, we're bloomin' freezing!

To get your heating on, overide the time controls.

On the boiler incoming terminal block remove wires on terminal 1 and 2 and put in a link wire. Beware 230V

Thanks baxpoti, appreciate the advice - when you mention the terminal block, do you mean the part on the pcb where you remove the 'control box cover'?

Just follow the 'mains' wire, it terminates at a terminal strip inside the boiler.

You're a lifesaver baxpoti, thanks for the help, heat temporarily restored!
