Hi all. Recently my wife has been noticing that the hot water isn't that hot any more. She can run a bath using the hot tap alone. I can't say I've noticed because I don't have asbestos skin :) She says it used to be a lot hotter.

Anyway, the hot water control on the boiler itself used to be about a quarter of the way round and that was fine, but now even turning it to the max setting the water isn't particularly hot.

Can you tell me what to look for please?

Thanks.

PS the diaphragm was changed a week ago.

Sorry - but where's the central heating flow pipe?
I assume the CH has to be cold to try this?

under the boiler think its 2nd pipe from the left might be wrong tho yeah better when cold

I'll check. You think it could be bypassing into the heating?

Its worth mentioning that a couple of weeks ago it was British Gas who replaced the diaphragm under contract. They did a health check and it came out okay.

Had any snow?

Is it cold where you are?

Do you think the cold water coming in is the same temp as last summer?

We have had a little snow, lasted less than a day.

I see that the incoming water temp could be colder, but should it be affected this much even with the temp control on full?? And a bath full of water solely from the hot tap... that can't be because its cold outside? The water used to be steaming straight out of the tap, even in other winters.
