i got same boiler and having same problem with mine yesterday.
managed to get it going again this morning, by checking the power leads to the air pressure switch and the small trip stat on the flue outlet.
also the clip that holds the motor on the diverter valve of slides through boiler vibration.

come guys somene must no whats up with it?????

I think that several of us have a very good idea but we cannot give detailed advice on matters which should only be dealt with by a competent CORGI.

For less than the price of the PCB you could provable have found a CORGI to fix it for you.

I realise that there are some people who have a total aversion to paying anyone to fix their boilers and instead prefer to spend more on new parts.

I dont think that Sloppy Tom is speaking about the same model boiler!

Perhaps my memory is failing but I dont remember a flue trip stat or a motor driven diverter valve.

it has a valve head actuator on the diverter valve held in by a forked clip which can become loose, if valve isnt in proper position it can result in a reduced feed to heater or hot water. the inner flue has a stat attached to it just before flue leaves boiler.

i have had a corgi guy around and he said it was the pcb thats why i changed it! im a marine engineer and work with gas and plumbing every day so i have a good idear what the do's and dont's when it comes to gas but if it's just a simple part that needs changing im not up for paying for someone to do it if i can and with chirstmas er im a bit skint so some help would realy be great

Thats a little odd. Usually when you call someone to fix a boiler they diagnose the fault and fit the part required. If it turns out they got it wrong then YOU dont have to pay for the part.

Did you pay him for diagnosing the fault ( wrongly) ?

Sloppytom . you are being quite sloppy in your reading ,you are missing that your boiler says instant on it which is a different boiler from a standard 80e.

yer i no should get em back realy but dont fancy thats as it would seem he dont realy no whats up with it and dont fance throwing more parts at it unless i no it will fix it can any give me some idear what it maybe???

He says he works for BG, so I thought at least he would know if he has an Instant.

But does the Instant really have a "flue trip stat"? Apart from the Ideal Response add on I cannot think of any non condensing boiler with one.
