Good afternoon, just a bit of advice really - It looks like our PCB needs replacing in our Baxi boiler. Its £200 plus loads extra for fitting by the plumber. I can get the board cheaper and fit it myself... do I need to be gas safe registered just to replace the PCB board?

Thank you

Depends on the model and in some cases strictly speaking no but a GSR engineer would normally have the experience and the equipment to be able to perform the required checks and tests on the boiler and ensure it's working properly and burning correctly and that does yes

That makes a lot of sense, I was thinking just to buy the part and replace it myself, but you are right about the testing after.
Thanks for your advice, I think I'll stick to having it done professionally.
