BAXI SOLO 2 40PF PROBLEM - HELP PLEASE!

I have a Baxi solo 2 40pf boiler.

When the boiler fires up, all the lights come on (the boiler on light flickers, PCB?) and the radiators & water get hot but they don't reach living room thermostat temp (boiler thermostat is on the highest setting) before turning off. Then there are no lights lit on the boiler and it will not turn back on, even when all controls are on the "on" position. It could be a couple of hours before it fires back up, it stays on, then same thing happens again!

Any one got any clues??? Much appreciated

If no lights are lit on the boiler you may well have a problem with your external controls, can you check for mains voltage at the boiler switched live.

There is voltage from the external controls, live and switch live.

Then I would suspect the PCB, as when there is a switched live the "boiler on" light should be lit - or the "overheat" would prevent it.

It just seems strange that it just decides to fire up on it's own!

Check the room stat aswell, if boiler fires up and goes thru the motions ie hot to rads,could be boiler stat faulty. Doubt its PCB, but then again !!!!!!

Scrap it, that boiler is band G.
