Hello,

Will be most grateful if anyone can help. Came back after 2 weeks holiday, boiler was off while we were away, and now the pump goes on, the fan runs, the spark sparks but the pilot burner does not light

Gas man hot footed it over to check that there was no problem with the gas and all was fine. Pressure all checked out. Thought there was air in the pipes but he said it should have cleared in about a hour. 8 hours later and boiler still sparking away and trying to light.

Any instructions welcome or if any one can recommend a good technician in middlesex.

Many thanks

Few things it could be but most likely in this case is a sticking gas valve.
Might be worth giving it a gentle tap if it is sticking but after that you need a corgi guy to sort the rest out.
