tonite there has been a humming/vibrating noise coming from the storage tank and when i checked the boiler there is no pilot light and no other lights lit up either so doesnt appear to be overheating or anything just dead. Have tried switching it off to 0, leaving it for 5 seconds as its says on flap then turning it back on and still no pilot light coming back on. The system is 12 yrs old and has been running fine till now, any suggestion please?

Check diverter/zone valve(s) is/are operating correctly and sending 230v to boiler S/L.

is the boiler seperately installed with a fused spur for isolation check the fuse first step then diverter valves

when you heard the humming was it the pump running and were you calling for heating or hot water if it wasnt the pump and the pump doesnt run when calling for heat or water then the switched live has to be checked if there is mains voltage there then the potentiometer will need changing if no mains voltage it must be external wiring .but now you have a guideline strongly recommend get a corgi in deffinately not worth getting hurt or worse over a boiler
