Baxi Solo 3PFL 60 Fan Unit

We have ascertained that the Fan Unit which sits on top of the combustion box has burned out. We have tested in situ using a separate mains feed and it does not work. The manual says to just slid the unit forward after unhitching the wiring and sensor tubes, but this unit will not budge. Is there some other way to remove it?
