Hi Guys,

Does anyone have a detail for: foundation to concrete block, to beam and block, to timber frame wall?

With a normal brick wall it is straightforward, a wall with cavity, beams sit in the internal brickwork. But with the timber frame, I do not need any cavity. Do I just lay concrete block with no cavity and place the beams on top?

Thanks

Good afternoon - brilliant !! I have a similar conundrum and been looking everywhere for an example detail as such! Albeit thicker walls with larsen truss and timber cladding, but otherwise same principle (Passivhaus high performance). May I ask please if by any chance you have typical section (walls and doorways) going the other way. And what happens structurally at sub floor vent positions in relation to the 140mm blocks supporting the load? Are these concrete or maybe 7N aerated? And thank you so much for posting this detail - you may have just cured some of my stress! (we can't have a raft due to ground conditions). .......... kr.......m&m

I think the blockwork was 7N dense. The sole plate would just run over the top of any vents through the wall.
