I'm from the midlands. What I'm thinking of doing is putting in decorative supports, so I can have it open but the support is there. All I need now is a course on 'How to learn wood turning in a day'!! :LOL: Parents know a few wood turners so I might get them on side!

I've finally got the answer!! :D After looking at the original supports( and dreaming about them!!) for all this time, I have finally seen the pattern! There is a support every five and a half rafters, which means about every ninety two inches. this means the stud wall is not part of the support structure!! YIPPEE :D :LOL: :D I just thought I would share my discovery!!!
