where do I get some? None of the builders merchants have it, which might explain why the brickies haven't heard of it being used in a standard build and I've not seen it before!

Seeing as the technical chaps at the block manufacturer recommended it a couple of courses below openings I thought it probably wise to follow their advice.

My local merchant does this stuff Brickforce (£75+vat for 54m), where are you based? If you can't source that stuff locally what about getting the 20m coils from screwfix?

as hotrod has stated, you need to ask for expanded metal roll.
