bedding down ridge tiles

ive not long put a new roof on using fibre cement tiles and ive noticed from other roofs they have bedded down the ridge tiles down but not pointed down the sides of them is this ok ? i can understand it being fine on the the ridge but i have to bed some down on the hip of my roof and wondering if i should point down sides of them or is there no point >?

Do mean that it looks like the ridge tiles are lying flat on the roof tiles?

Sometimes you will find this on slate roofs,the beding cement is all inside the V shape of the ridge.

If you lay one of your hips down on the tiles and there are gaps under the hips,yes you will have bed them a bit higher and point up the sides.
 
it's fine, We call it secret bedding, the only muck youll see is the butt joints. In the past most slate roofs were finished in this way.
