Hi,
I just signed up here. I'm thinking of doing a lot of DIY work on my bedroom. I'm a novice but I'm pretty sure I can teach myself the skills to get everything looking okay (especially by following online tutorials). I've drawn up a floor plan for how I want my new bedroom to look as far as arrangement, but I have some questions I'd like to ask, especially about the style/theme of my room.
- In general, I have 2 conflicting ideas for styles of my room - one is 'airy' i.e. lots of pale greens and blues, and some whites/light grey to reflect the sunlight (my bedroom has a nice window which allows lots of light in Summer).
But, I also want to be able to close the curtains and for my room then to be quite moody and dark, so I can play video games. I also plan to use LED lighting to illuminate the room in a more colourful way. In particular, I like the... 'punk'? style with deep blacks and 'funky' pink and green highlights/stripes/decals.
I have already half-decided on using a ceramic (faux anthracite) tiled floor, if my parents let me. It's grey and slightly shiny, so I think it'll work for either style. But is there any way I can make the room look good both in bright sunlight and also have black with highlights on some parts of the walls?
I have other questions too but they are probably better asked in a different topic.
Thank you for reading!
