Hi all. We are having difficulty deciding on wall tiles to go with our black granite kitchen countertop. The tiles will go all around the L-shaped kitchen from counter to the undersides of the cabinets, and on the very large (long) window sill.
The granite is "mottled" black with grey flecks, so it isn't the real deep jet black type. The cupboards are solid medium oak in the Shaker style with brushed pewter "traditional" handles; the floor is done in creamy-coloured ceramic tile with the look of stone. Overall, we're aiming for a modern country look. The walls are currently painted a light moss green, but we're thinking of repainting it almond white to give it a cleaner look and to make the room look larger.
Does anyone have any experience or an opinion on wall tile style, colour, texture and material that would good with black granite to help us achieve a great look? Has anyone seen websites that have pictures of black granite and tile combinations? I'm a messy cook, so easy clean is mandatory! The only thing we've definately ruled out is glass because it shows watermarks and the room is south-facing and would be blinding when the sun shines in.
Many thanks.
