Hey guys, new to the forum so how you all doing?

On this exact model where can I find the defrost timer? It's not down the back beside the compressor - all that's there is the starter relay and compressor. It's not behind the little plate in the freezer and it's not under the plastic bit with the temperature cooler and light in the fridge.

It's really pi$$ing me off

Not seen that model but the CDA540 and CDA554 are not frost free so dont have timers for the freezer.

The fridge sections are auto defrost though.

 maybe it doesn't have one

Fridge and freezer both packed in. Compressor does hum for a minute or so then clicks and goes off for another minute or so then repeats. Compressor also gets hot, not red hot but probably too hot to hold hand on.
No breeze in freezer but not sure if there was one before.

Recommendations?

Check the compressor windings for a short circuit
Does the compressor have a start capacitor and is it ok
Getting hot and stopping after a very short while is usually due to either a failure of the compressor or start relay. (there is a thermal overload on the compressor to prevent it overheating)
