Apologies if this has been addressed/answered before but i havent managed to find it!

I have a BEKO american style fridge freezer...which is now about 4 years old.

It was plumbed up for ice/water...but the ice maker/tray thingy stopped dropping the cubes and clogging up...just out of warranty...so i turned that off...a minor inconvenience...

More recently, we started getting nuisance RCD trip outs...which i traced to the socket at the back of the fridge. Its happened about 6 times in total, most annoyingly when away on holiday...another incovenience...

More worryingly, i have just started getting shocks from the freezer door (brushed stainlessy type surface)!! Nothing drastic - but i saw a tiny spark as i (stupidly) kept touching it...i thought i was mad - until it happened to my son aswell.

Is it goosed?

What should i do?

The American style fridge/freezers are not affected by Beko's recall . The common reason people get shocks from the casing of an appliance is if the plug socket itself is faulty . If your unable to test the socket yourself try plugging it into another socket . If your going to use an exstension lead ensure its fully unwound and is 13 amp rated.
