Hi guys. Was cooking a roast yesterday and to our horror we realised that the oven temperature was not heating up past about 70 degrees, and was not cooking the roast spuds.

We had to order a chinese as the roast went to waste

Anyway, it doesn't seem to get hot enough. What could be causing this?

If it is the element then they can be picked up for about twenty sheets, but how easy would this be to fix? Am I going to need to get a spark out?

Any help appreciated

Seany

sounds like a thermostat problem..
if the element is heating at all then it should be fine, was it cycling on and off?

this should really be in the appliances forum..

It wasn't switching off as far as I could see (the fan remained on). So if there was heat it a'int the element - dam

If it is the thermostat what is the prognosis, Colonel?

not the oven just the elements switching on and off, did you hear any clicking as the thermostat turned off?
