Is there a great advantage over having direct drive washing machines over the traditional belt driven ones ? if so why ?

i can't thik of ay great advantage. i'm sure that the other repair guys on here will agree that with the exception of certain models, you'll find the drive belts last for ages. so if you're thinking of buying an l.g. machine i'd consider a siemens who have just introduced long full warranties to compete with l.g. and miele.
