Berlingo fuel filter

Have to change the fuel filter on a 1.6 hdi B9 Berlingo Dv6 HN9
Ive seen all the horrors about the primer button not working and wondered if anyone has had success with another method?

Fill the filter up with diesel, using a small milk jug or similar......sometimes a length of tubing can help as well.
Then, pop the milk jug into the dishwasher and deny everything!

Im well experienced at the denial thing already,although the new white bath towels incident needed explanation.
