I want to get a completely new c/h system fitted in a large 4 bed victorian house. What is the most efficient and cheapest to run please? The house has nothing at the moment so is a complete blank canvas Thanks.

Your installer is the only one who can recommend something after a site visit.

Oh. I thought someone would have been able to give an impartial idea :(

site visit and walk the job bonny lad

no other way to do it

Although I cannot disagree with either Ben or Kev's reasoning, do you have Natural Gas piped into the property? Reason I ask is, LPG and Oil are subject to huge price fluctuations and are consistently dearer than piped in gas (my fave....)

Solar thermal will by its nature work best in summer (when you do not have the heating requirement), so although Hot-water may be boosted by the sun, the pay-back time on the install and maintenance will still be considerable.

Thats just for starters, get a 'Pro' in. (one that is recommended by someone who's judgement you trust'. And, when it comes to pricing, DO NOT GO for the cheapest quote, or the geezer who can start tomorrow...

Thanks. there is mains gas. Weve had oil for years and I wasnt sure if gas was any cheaper after all the news reports about price hikes.

Whats wrong with a 24kw combi? :P.................vaillant seems to fill a bath much quicker than a worcester, 10mm gas supply too..
