Would it be a pan head screw with a washer or is there something better?

Thanks

The instructions show an M8x20 bolt to fix into metal and that looks to have a washer on:

But nothing for wood.

what about either a T nut or insert?
Then you could use the original bolts

The bolts weren’t included. I think the basket symbol means you have to go and buy them.

I’ll get the fattest 20mm pan head I can find. Thanks :)

Metric Imperial Screw Conversion Chart
Gauge-----Metric diameter (mm)-----Pilot Hole size (mm)
3----------------------2.5--------------------------1
4-----------------------3 --------------------------1.5
6----------------------3.5--------------------------2
8 -----------------------4 -------------------------2.5

I might go a bit longer, the baserail is 30mm thick and the handrail 60mm.

I got the pan heads but the head isn’t big enough so i’ll have to use a washer as well

The clamps are Q-Railing Model 21 .

I would suggest a shake proof or spring washer under the head to prevent loosening during opening and closing.

I’ve just found a video and it shows an inset into the wood and then the clamp bolted.

Anyone know what the insert would be called and if that would be better than the pan heads?
