Hello,

What fixings are best for fixing new stud wall to stone foundation? I've used Tapcon for this in the past and think they're excellent but that was in the USA. Is there a UK equivalent or shall I just drill with masonary bit, plug, and screw? If so, what size for 4"x2" sole plate on DPC then flagstone?

Thanks,

JB

it depends what the flagstones are made of -if its sandstone and not too hard they will work

if very hard material, then you might be best with expanding plugs

Concrete screws or thunderbolt type fixings don't expand when driven in. They may be more suitable on a slab, particularly near the edges.
