Hi im renovating an old farmhouse and am trying to keep as many of the original features as possible which includes all the exposed ceilings and joists between ground and first floors, the problem is is that the floor boards and the ceiling boards are the same boards so hence at the moment walking on exposed for upstairs is quite noisy,
i'm looking to put some sort of insulating material on top of the boards then either carpet and underlay in some rooms and maybe some sort of underlay and laminate in others
has anybody got ideas of what to use I know you can get sound insulating underlay but is it any good, was also considering maybe using some sort of rubber matting and maybe some weyrock on top again.

Thanks

Steve

Just use good quality underlay , available for all types of floor covering.
