Hello everybody,

I have the Vaillant Ecotech Plus boiler with thermostatic valves on the radiators.

What do you recommend to optimize consumption and reduce waste:

- Turn on when you're at home, turn off when you're out
- Always keep the VSmart at a fixed temperature so that it unplugs and plugs back in at least 0.3 degrees below the desired temperature
- Always keep the VSmart at an unattainable temperature (boiler on 24h) and regulate the rooms with the thermostatic valves

Thanks for your help

Make sure your control is actually wired and working in a compensation mode.

Leave the heating ON when out, but at a sensible setback temperature.

TRVs on the rooms should just be overheat cutoffs.

many thanks for your reply,

so you recommend the first option (turn on when in, turn off when out), right?
I set 20.5 when in and 19.5 when out and night.

I attach the histogram.

what do you think?

19.5 might be a little high for a set back temperature. Start around 18 and go from there. But it depends on the home and what your prefer.

I try with 19° otherwise T goes too low and the boiler will stay ON longer.
Have you took a look at the graph of the heating operations that I have attached? what do you think?
