Could anyone tell me the pros and cons of either gluing a hardwood floor directly onto the concrete or floating the foor with gluing the T&G.
Also, do you need a vapour barrier if the floor is over a garage?
Thanks

Cons: your concrete floor has to be very level in order to prevent 'echoing' gaps when glueing the floor down
cons: wood works, always, no matter what installation method you use. Glueing down won't change that.

Pros: can't think of anything that isn't a pro too on floating installation.

Use a combi-underlayment (DPM + sound-insulation in one) when installing floating in a concrete floor.
