I have never been really impressed with the performance if with either of our WC syphons. The cisterns are concealed below vanity top, so fairly low. has anyone any genuine recommendations for replacements?

One has ceased to work properly at all. The push button goes loose, but by removing and replacing the tube, it works - but maybe only once. I have tried cutting the ends of the tube. Does anyone know whether the issue will be with the syphon or the button ?

Cheers

Usually the hoses, which are cheapest to replace.

If you can operate it with a syringe on the existing hoses then it's the button.

https://www.fixthebog.uk are a good company for spares

Good idea about a syringe where it does not work at all.
However, if I disconnect the tube and immediately reconnect it will work at least once
