Wanna whack something onto a shed to waterproof it, what's recommended? Or maybe preserve it

A shed is not waterproof.

Do you mean rain is getting inside it?

Or do you mean you want to use a decorative finish on the outside?

Wood preserver will delay rot in wet conditions, for example if in contact with the ground, or rain allowed to collect on it (both are poor construction).

i swear by ducks back 2 coats then 2 years later another 2 coats then every 5 or so years another 2 coats shed now 20 years old [next april ]no decay at all on 12mm txg shiplap its a fully waterproof finish
i apply in the height off summer to avoid untreated wood lines appearing with shrinkage
