Hi All,

I am in the process doing up the kitchen, re-plastered, painted, new units fitted. I am having new worktops delivered today and was wondering if you could advise on the best way to cut them to size and cut out for the sink. Some people have sugested a Jigsaw, others a circular saw?

Any preferances to brands, specs etc?

if its visible circular saw if its hidden a good saw that will cut strait

Cut worktops upside down, into the bull nose with a sharpe fine tooth circular saw. Make sure both pieces are supported when cutting through them. This will give you a perfect cut edge.

Cut the holes for the sink with a jig saw (If the cut edge isn't visible, it will chip)

Hole saw for corners of sink cut out and circular saw on straight sections, jigsaw blades tend to bend thru thick material and you need a neat finish in order to seal. A router gives the best finish if budget allows.
