I plan on boxing in some pipes in the bathroom, and have some brown wall plugs to put the framing in. The walls are made up of two layers of tiles and one of plasterboard, with what I think is a gap after that. The floor is made up of tiles on top of plywood, on top of wooden floorboards.

Am I ok to use the wall plugs or is there anything else I should consider? Just thought I should check before I start making holes everywhere!

Thanks

Those plasterboard plugs will not be long enough to go through two tiles and cement and a layer of plasterboard.

As the fixings will not be taking much weight, you could even use red rawlplugs, but brown ones will be fine as long as you drill the correct size hole in the tiles. Stick a bit of plastic tape over the position where you want to drill the holes in the tiles to stop your masonary drill slipping when you start.

if you use red plugs, then you can use smaller screws.they will be fine just in the tiles, just for a boxing.you could glue the battens too for a little extra strength.
