Just dug out concrete in an area of 17ft x 14ft . Ready for lawn area .
Had some soil from another part of garden and have put this in hole where concrete was !
All a bit up and down in gap ect , but my problem is I need to build up area 5inch higher :!:
So far I thought TOPSOIL ! but for a hole this size the cost is £250 ( cheapest so far locally, just for some topsoil
Any ideas the best way to build up level and process to achieve my lawn ?
Will get topsoil if no better ideas !

if your going to turf it then what else is there other than topsoil? How is the existing soil? it may be worth throwing in a ton of sharp sand if its clay. the most important thing if your turfing it is to roll it thouroughly to firm it up. Small undulations will be taken out in the loam you lay the turf on but a rake and heavy roller won't be too hard work to get a good result on fresh thrown soil.
