I have a Biasi riva compact M96.28SR/C. The boiler starts normally but then after about 10 minutes the burner goes out but with the fan still running and a fault code comes up on the 3 lamps ( steady red on the centre, flashing green on either side).......the boiler will not re ignite despite being called by the room thermostat and/or hot water. The fault code table says it is the Full Ignition Sequence ( not very helpful!). I have changed the temperature probe and the flame detection probe and thought I had the problem solved because the boiler ran for a couple of hours on a couple of days but it is back to only running for about 10/15 minutes before the fault code comes up. I have also tried disconnecting the wire from the condensor trap but the fault still comes up. I can only think now the Ignition Sequence PCB is faulty...I have inspected it visually and cannot see any obvious blackening. Before I spend over £100 on the chance that is the problem...any other ideas?

A DIYer should not have opened the combustion chamber!

The obvious advice is to call a gas reg engineer!

hi.....sorry I did not make it clear.....the work was done by a Corgi plumber but the boiler remains faulty and he has run out of ideas to fix it other than to change the pcb which is a part costing over £100. I am looking for any other possible causes that people have experienced. I will pass the info onto the plumber if access to the boiler is required. The boiler is 6 years old and I was told when it was serviced a year ago that I should expect to renew it soon ( no one seems to rate this boiler!) so I am planning to replace it. It would just be nice to have some heating for the next 6/8 weeks whilst I am waiting for that to be done.

He does not seem to be a very well trained Corgi then!

But that does not alter the site rules!

He should ask himself in the Combustion Chamber part of this for gas reg engineers!

We find that most of the enquirers here really intend to do it themselves!
