Hi all,
So moved in a few months ago and I have found that my boiler does not have a room thermostat. It hasn't bothered me for a while as I have been tired up with more important things but I am now finding the cold to hard to ignore. I know this boiler supports a room thermostat as I have checked in the manual however I'm not sure as to what type etc.

Would anyone be able to tell me if my boiler supports a nest thermostat? I don't want to buyit and find out later on it doesn't as they are expensive.

Thanks

The Nest effort can be fitted to virtually any boiler.
Other thermostats are available for a tenth of the price.

Regarding ' finding the cold to hard to ignore' do you mean the boiler isn't working? With no thermostat, the heating should still function and just continue heating until it is switched off manually.

A room thermostat is primarily to turn the boiler off when the house is warm enough.

The Biasi can be connected to any thermostat including wired or wireless types.

Sounds as if you need an engineer to fit one for you.

It works, the problem is I need to turn it on for 1-2-3 hours etc and I don't think this method is doing me any favours in terms of cost. Is there any way I could do this myself or is this a job for electrician/ plumber?

Nest support were very good when I emailed them with queries, that might be worth a try, to help figure out if you have the confidence/skill to do it yourself. "If in doubt, pay someone to do it" - is my way of looking at these situations

Thanks for your help everyone. I have someone coming over tomorrow to give me a quote. As I dont currently have a thermostat im guessing they are going to need to run a cable to the thermostat. To keep it easier/ costs down I am going to have the thermostat on the same wall as the boiler but in a different room. This means they could just run the cable on the outside of the house to the thermostat.

Is anyone able to tell me a rough figure as to how much money this may cost me?
