For the past three weeks or I've noticed that the pressure bar on my Bolier sits at zero even though its been on for a few hours. I'm getting plenty of hotwater the radiators work fine (apart from 1 which sometimes doesn't come on)

So every morning I've got to top up the sealed system. sometime's I've got to do this at night when the heating comes on again.

I've obviously got a leak somewhere, I've been around my radiators, checked them bled them (no air just water). there's no ominous looking bulges in my ceilings, no leaks around the radiators. I' ve no water running down walls no feeling of damp on the floors. It must be going somewhere.

Any other ideas before I call in the professionals.

Thanks,

Abzman

check the discharge pipe outside - you probably need a new PRV and possibly the exp vessel needs recharging

Top up to 1.5 Bar when the rads are cold and then run the heating and watch the pressure.

It should only go up by about 0.3-0.4 Bar.

If it rises to around three then the expansion vessel may need recharging or is failed.

If the boiler is correctly sized to the rads then its quite likely that the internal expansion vessel is inadequate. Its only suitable for the average larger three bed semi. Larger installations often need an additional expansion vessel.
