boiler keeps firing for 10sec then going out, then fires again

any ideas please

A combi' I pressume ? would suspect that u have a fan problem ? could be the flue , or aps . The boiler is not getting enough air , or the fan is not holding the aps (aps =air pressure switch) , the fan obtains its power from the by the ign pcb , thats the red box on the gas valve .

And all those things he has listed need a registered gas engineer.

before even thinking about the fan and aps i would be first checking the ignition side as if it fires up it needs to then rectify back to the pcb if it doesnt then it will cut out and lock out as agile says you need a technical gas engineer to look at that its not a diy job please dont risk it we are trained for a reason cheers :D

Its possible that the ign' pcb is faulty , but if my memory serves me correctly , the biasi prisma makes 1 attempt to ignite , as opposed to 3(?) attempts on the later models , if a flame is not detected during the ign' attempt the boiler would go to ign' lockout ,which would require a manual reset , as i understand it the boiler is firing on off e.c.t

The ignition PCB is fine!

Its "something else" but I cannot say what because I dont encourage DIY gas work nor do the rules of this site permit it.

As stated ages ago, the OP needs a competent gas engineer.
