has anybody got any tips how to stop birds getting into the loft space. It is normal tiled roof.

Fit eaves comb fillers between the fascia and tiles, and point any holes to any verges.
My prefered option is tying cats to the roof - especailly my neighbours ones, as it stops them krapping in my garden too. Bonus!
