Bits for power screwdriver

I have been given a power screwdriver. a 10.8 V Lithium , with Li-ion battery. Magnetic bit holder. Made by Bosch.

No bits are included, so I need to buy a set of/some bits. I use slot and phillips screws frequently, from 6 to about 10.

I know absolutely nothing about power drivers or about bits for them.
Can anyone recommend a good set of bits ? Would this driver hold all the bits on sale ?

Bosch were bundling a boxed set of bits with the 10.8 drill about 6 months ago. Try googling/eBay for "bosch max-grip". There are 2 sets, one hold 6 and the other holds about 10, they come with a magnetic bit holder.

I have had two of those Wiha bit holders and bother were c rap - would not actually click and hold the bit.

I used to buy these for the shop floor assembly staff at one of my previous workplaces - they used them all day, every day. I also used them myself for around 18 months when self employed - they last ages and are almost impossible to break.

whatever you do, dont go down the market and buy a cheapo set, all that will happen is you will end up with round screw heads and a round bit!

Yeh, I know they are kinda cheapo, but Axminster are sound usually and how much damage can you do with a 10 volt driver?

The 2 Wiha holders I'v got are fine, and if those Axminster bits are as good as their box of dozens of drill bits, they are a waste of money.

if your talking normal woodwork screws they are actualy pozi 2[6 to 10s]90% of applications use pz2 so if you get one of the multi sets with lots more pz2s then you cant go wrong

philips is more automotive and some more specialist applications

ive got these unfortunatly they have stopped selling them but the good thing is theres 20 pz bits as well as the more usual bits but plenty room for extensions ect in the box and you can replace some off the pz2 spaces with other bits [torks or whatever]and still have as many pz2s as you wish

I have this set, and the bit holder is better than the wiha one, and the bits last a reasonable time too

Rather than the cross head screws, the T Star screws are a lot less of a problem from slipping bits. http://www.axminster.co.uk/product-Spax-Premium-Quality-T-Star-Wood-Screws-19753.htm They are available from Screwfix too.
